This vintage shortening tin has it all - bold lettering, popping colours, and is an important piece of Canadian history! The Harris Abattoir Company Ltd. was a local Toronto meat and food company from the late 1890’s to the early 1900’s. It eventually became part of Maple Leaf Foods. The tin is in good pre-owned condition considering age. It has some fading, chipped paint, and the top cover is dented. The lettering is still clear and completely legible.
It no longer has its handle, but would still be a great piece in any tin collection.
The tin is 9 inches tall and 7 1/2 inches in diameter.
